How It All Began

EagleView was founded by Dave Carlson and Chris Pershing. In 2006 Dave, a second generation roofer, was running operations and sales for a roofing company in Los Angeles and Chris was a software developer in Seattle. Dave got tired of climbing on roofs in 100 degree weather trying to accurately measure roofs by throwing a tennis ball tied to a cloth tape measure across the roof. With Dave's experience in roofing and Chris' software engineering background, the two entrepreneurs joined together to pioneer a revolutionary software-based system utilizing satellite and aerial imaging to create detailed roofing measurements. After filing the right patents and spending more than a year in development, Dave and Chris formally launched the business in February of 2008 delivering the first remote aerial roof measurement reports in history! The idea immediately caught on and spread like wild fire. First to roofers all over the country and then quickly to insurance companies and adjustors. By the time the company was less than a year old, they had already grown to become the industry standard in aerial roof measurements.

EagleView Software

At first the idea was to create measurement software that was at least as accurate as a manual measurement. Over the years the software has grown into a suite of tools. After filing 5 additional patents some covering the unique way that EagleView calculates precise pitches, the software evolved to an accuracy level that is beyond any original expectations. By the time 2009 rolled around the company was already on its 5th generation of software, had a large team of developers, and hundreds of highly trained roofing technicians creating the most accurate reports in the world with an average accuracy rating better than 98%!

What Is An EagleView?

An EagleView is simply the world’s first and most accurate roof or object measurement, presented in a professional report. An EagleView Order is generated when a client visits our website and submits the address information and verification. Measured and reviewed by expert technicians, an EagleView Report is generated (see sample below) and emailed to the client in a variety of available file formats including .PDF and .DXF.
