An Inside Look at FutureView 2017: Day 1

Rishi Daga on stage FutureView 2017

FutureView® has arrived! The first full day kicked off at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast in the Renaissance Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, followed by the opening session to greet our attendees.

FutureView

Robert Locke, President of Pictometry® Government Solutions, addressed the crowd during the opening session. Out of all 10 FutureView conferences, he said, this is the biggest one yet, with more than 320 attendees from 40 states and provinces. Additionally, more than 200 counties, parishes, municipalities, and other organizations, as well as eight industry partners, are right here with us in Nashville.

Bob asked the crowd how many first-time attendees were present, and more than half of attendees in the room raised their hands. We’re pleased to see so many new faces here for two jam-packed days of training courses, speaker sessions, and networking opportunities.

Also present this morning was Nashville and Davidson County Property Assessor Vivian Wilhoite. Vivian welcomed the crowd to the “It City,” where country stars like Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Luke Bryan live. In addition to being the top U.S. city to travel to in 2017, Nashville boasts a vibrant nightlife — one we’ll treat our attendees to at Tequila Cowboy on Wednesday night. Thank you, Vivian, for joining us this morning!

Rishi Daga addresses the crowd during the opening session.

EagleView President Rishi Daga addressed attendees in the opening session and explained the merger between EagleView Technologies and Pictometry — and how the brand is now under one name, EagleView. Expanding to EagleView has allowed us to grow our fleet of aircraft to more than 112 planes (20 of which now have Near Infrared capabilities), and the brand has more than 107 patents total. From more automated data extraction to ultra-high resolution imagery, EagleView is always on the lookout for new ways to innovate.

We gave our sponsors the chance to participate in a quick “lightning talk” during the opening session, so attendees could learn more about our trusted business partners. Several praised FutureView as one of their favorite conferences. Thank you again to our FutureView exhibitors!

At 10:15, Anthony Cross, EagleView VP of Product Strategy, and Frank Giuffrida, Executive VP and Chief Engineer at EagleView, took to the stage to explain how we go from “Images to Answers.”

Frank and Anthony take the crowd “from images to answers.”

The presentation opened with this quote from Seth Godin: “Don’t find customers for your products, find products for your customers.” Anthony and Frank make this their mission by working with EagleView’s teams of engineers, UX designers, product managers, and others to create products that meet customers’ requirements and help them solve intricate problems.

After lunch, everyone split up to attend training and guest speaker sessions or visit with partners and EagleView representatives.
