AppliCad Software and EagleView® Technologies Partner for Metal Roofing Contractors

Bothell, WA and Melbourne, Australia—Jan 2011— EagleView Technologies and AppliCad Software are teaming up to offer a streamlined method to quickly generate accurate 3D roof models for the estimating departments of metal roofing contractors.

EagleView and AppliCad have announced a new technology integration that will allow AppliCad customers to order EagleView’s breakthrough roof measurement reports with an AppliCad format 3D roof model in electronic form. The agreement will enable roofing contractors and distributors to automatically import detailed 3D roof models into AppliCad in just two mouse clicks as part of the everyday estimating and take-off process.

“We’re excited to have our detailed roof models available to AppliCad users,” EagleView CEO and President Chris Barrow said. “This will significantly improve the ease with which a metal roofing contractor can respond to their client’s needs.”

AppliCad users will be able to send measurement requests for a particular roof to EagleView from the EagleView website and order an AppliCad format model file to be supplied at no extra cost. Using aerial photography and patent-pending software, EagleView accurately calculates measurements for roof areas including the roof’s ridges, rafters, valleys, slopes and more.

AppliCad users can electronically import the 3D roof model into the AppliCad software and view the completed roof layout from any point of view. A job that might take 30 minutes digitizing using information from an architect’s drawing is now reproduced instantly in full 3D. From there, AppliCad users would use all the dimension checking, take-off, material calculation and job reporting tools that form the AppliCad software. Once the 3D model is imported into AppliCad the user would simulate the application and quantify any metal roof material including the complete trim package with all accessory items and generate supplier orders, workshop details and material cutting lists.

The process saves distributors and roofing contractors hours of time that might otherwise be spent onsite measuring and scoping a roof.
