EagleView Roof Measurements Confirmed to Be 98.77% Accurate Compared to Independent Benchmark Measurements

EagleView is committed to delivering the highest quality and value possible for the measurements and analyses we deliver to our clients.

To ensure we are keeping that commitment, in Q1 2025, EagleView contracted CompassData, a Colorado-based firm that specializes in accurate surveying and mapping solutions. to conduct accuracy testing of EagleView property measurements.

CompassData is a specialist in the field and uses latest in Global Positioning System (GNSS) technology combined with years of field experience, along with a proprietary expertise, to ensure the accuracy and currency of their measurement data.

Side-by-side comparison of two 3D models of a house. On the left, a LiDAR benchmark scan shows a textured and detailed black model of a two-story house, labeled "LiDAR Benchmark Scan of House." On the right, a corresponding EagleView 3D house model is overlaid on satellite imagery, showing clean surfaces with measurement labels for roof sections and pitch values, labeled "EagleView Corresponding 3D House Model With Measurements."

A Rigorous Approach & Strong Results

For our testing, CompassData selected a series of single-family residences in the Denver Metro area and applied two of their technologies, UAV (drone) LIDAR and terrestrial LIDAR, to develop high resolution 3-dimensional models whose measurements were then compared against EagleView measurements for the same properties.

EagleView measurements for roof lines are 98.77% accurate, for roof area are 98.43% accurate, and for roof slope are 98.49% accurate compared to independent benchmark measurements.

EagleView measurements compared favorably:

  • Roof Linear Measurements
    • Average difference: 0.2 linear feet (2.4 inches)
    • Accuracy: 98.77% across compared rooflines
  • Roof Area Measurements
    • Average difference: 5.61 square feet
    • Accuracy: 98.43% across compared roof planes
  • Roof Slope Measurements
    • Accuracy: 98.49% against roof slopes

Hundreds of Dollars Saved Per Project

When applied to real-world scenarios, the accuracy of EagleView measurements translates into real dollars and cents benefits. For material ordering scenarios for an average 1,800-square-foot roof, EagleView’s higher accuracy results in hundreds of dollars in savings per project compared to competing measurement services. Over the course of a year, these savings can significantly impact operational costs and profitability.

With the results of the study proving EagleView accuracy, EagleView, as a company has re-committed itself to continue delivering the highest quality and value possible for the measurements and analyses we offer our clients.
