Year Built a New Feature on EagleView® Premium Roof Measurement Reports

EagleView Technologies, the leader in aerial roof measurements, announces the addition of the year a property was built to the data included on its premium roof measurement reports.  Only available through EagleView, this enhancement allows contractors to quickly determine if there are hidden issues that may need to be addressed such as lead abatement or replacement of skip sheeting.

Most homes built before 1978 may contain lead paint and contractors are required by OSHA to use lead-safe work practices on these homes.  “By providing the year the property was built in the report details section, contractors will immediately know if they need to do deeper investigation which will determine if additional procedures are needed during the re-roofing process, “said Heidi Ellsworth, Vice President Sales and Marketing for EagleView Technologies.

In some markets, pre-1970’s homes were constructed with skip sheeting instead of plywood under the roof material.  “The year built data allows contractors to be prepared for the possibility of increased work leading to more accurate estimates,” said Ellsworth.

The effective year built is also included in the report data.  This date reflects when the property’s major components were revised to meet that year’s code.
