This image of Zion National Park gives a view few visitors to the park will ever see. Zion is known for its majestic canyons, diversity of plant and animal life and a rich history of human settlement dating back eight thousand years.
The park was difficult to reach in its early years until road improvements helped to open it up in 1917. Like many other state and national parks, many of the current trails were built during the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps. (Image capture date 04/04/14.)
