Are you an assessment official planning your professional development for the year? You already know that technology can bring several advantages to your department. But how do you go about implementing new solutions?

Each year, the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) bring assessment, appraisal, and mapping professionals together for the GIS/CAMA Technologies Conference. Now in its 22nd year, the 2018 GIS/CAMA Conference will take place in Houston, Texas, from March 19 to 22.

Assessors, appraisers, and GIS professionals gather to explore the ways in which technology can help them work more effectively. The conference also covers trending topics for officials in these areas of government.

Last year’s hurricane season presented challenges for appraisers in Texas as well as assessment professionals in other states. EagleView teamed up with Mike Soto, Chief Appraiser in Aransas County, to present on his county’s response to and recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

Aransas County, one of the hardest hit counties during Hurricane Harvey, lost approximately 25% of structure value as a result of the storm. The road to recovery is a long one, but with the right technology and team in place, Aransas County Chief Appraiser Mike Soto is on the fast track to assessing damage and picking up the pieces. Hear from Soto and Matt Thomas, EagleView Senior District Manager, on the role location data and technology played in appraisal before Harvey and in the last six months.

See the schedule and learn more on the GIS/CAMA site.

We hope to see you at the conference! Visit EagleView at booth #204 to learn more about what technology can do for your jurisdiction.
