Ask a Contractor: Effective Customer Communication on Every Job

In the first episode of our Ask a Contractor series, we spoke to Marc Tantalo, Vice President of American Custom Exteriors, about the importance of customer experience. He explained which questions construction businesses should ask their customers when a job concludes.

Customer experience is only one piece of the puzzle in managing a successful construction business. Contractors must practice good communication with customers.

One way to do so, Marc says, is to make sure that a customer has a single point of contact throughout the life of the job. The foreman should build a relationship with that property owner to ensure that customers understand why the work is being done. The customer should also know what is expected of them while the crew is onsite.
